Valenca Resturant

Last night I went to New Jersey to help a friend with our business by doing a public presentation, due to the day I had I did not have time eat dinner. After we finished our "shrink that debt" presentation I told my buddy Bruno," I must eat". Bruno, suggested that we go to one of his favorite resturants, a Portugese Resturant about ten minutes away. I was starving so I agreed not knowing what to expect. It was after all almost midnight, Bruno assured me that I would be pleased. We walked into a Resturant that was an open floor plan with a Bar from one end of the room to the other. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against drinking just wasn't sure what to expect now. I have to say I have never been more pleasantly surprised. I ordered Bruno's recommended steak on a stone with a Chorizo appetizer. Well when the plate was delivered it was on a metal tray in the tray was a sizzling hot stone with a plate of rice and chips accompanied by a dish of garlic flavored butter! Let me not forget the 2 pieces of raw Fillet Mignon! This is traditional meal I understand. I actually get to cook the meat to the desired temperature! I love my Steak medium rare and I just kept slicing pieces and dropping them on the stone! Utilizing the Garlic butter to season the Fillet I was in heaven! This was the best meal I have eaten in the last 5 years! I should not skip over the Choriso. The Portugese Sausage was seasoned with I am not even sure what and didn't ask as I was too busy enjoying it! I didn't get home until 2:30 am and am a little tire writing this note. The meal however, it was that good! Valenca in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Steak on a Stone! I live over an hour away. Rest assured I will be bringing my wife and children here to enjoy this meal again. Absolutely worth the trip! |
